So let’s kick it off with a killer senior portrait session. Here are 6 tips from what to wear, what to bring and a few extra details to consider for your high school senior photo session.
Where would you like to go? Flagstaff with the San Francisco peaks in the background? Show Low with rivers and pine trees? Or the desert with beautiful, tall wild grass and boulders that can only be seen in this part of the country? Or do you have a friend or relative that can give access to a unique location?
2) What to Wear
I recommend 1-3 outfits for a once in a life time high school senior portraits. One casual outfit and a second outfit that is a bit more formal (i.e. a dress or slacks). You can always do jeans. But we take cell photos all the time in jeans. Take this opportunity to showcase yourself in a special way. In addition, I want your senior photos to be unique and different from anyone else’s.
Just remember solids, textures and layers are great! But patterns and prints are not so great.
3) Things to consider bringing
-musical or sports equipment/uniform (or anything else of course) that showcases what you enjoyed during high school
-graduating year signs or banners
-car (you’re probably never going to forget your first car)
You will not be disappointed to have your hair (and/or) makeup professionally done for a once in a lifetime opportunity.
5) Clean finger nails is something that’s easy to skip over. But dirty, chipped nails can be distracting with an up close photo.
6) Jewelry is great! Jewelry adds extra class and personality to photos. I recommend wearing simple styles or soft neutral tones.
You are going to look awesome and nail your portrait session!
